IFS2024 12th International Fisheries Symposium

The theme of IFS2024 is ‘Fish as a Global Food Resource’. Fisheries will play an increasingly important role as a global food resource in the future, delivering quality food not only to urban areas but also to rural areas, leaving no one behind in a population that is expected to reach 10 billion people eventually. Recognising the critical importance of responsible and environmentally sound fisheries and aquaculture practices, we will explore cutting-edge research, advancements, and initiatives that contribute to the sustainable management of our oceans and aquatic resources. Through engaging discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions, we will collectively address the challenges and opportunities in maintaining healthy fish stocks, conserving biodiversity, and responsible aquaculture for promoting safe food production and sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities.
